We will be learning to use Oil Pastels to paint Flowers.

If you have a favourite Floral Photo, or want to bring cut flowers, please do so!

I will also bring samples of OP floral paintings, and Photos to share.

SUPPLY LIST:

(***IMPORTANT to have the following background work prepared prior to class!, as we only have a few hours to work.)

*Painting Surface 8x10:  2 pieces of Watercolour Paper, and 2 pieces of Canvas -taped w/ painters tape onto a hard surface….

One piece for your painting and one piece for experimental mark.  We will compare the results of different surfaces.

Using a large brush, pre-paint with ACRYLICS, the background of your painting surface a “light to mid-value” of Rust, Orange, or Pink -your choice.  This is primarily just to cover the White!

*Person oil pastel sticks of choice, at least 12 colour set

*q-tips

*porcelain saucer for odourless thinner (jar lids also works)

*HB pencil

*white vinyl eraser

*apron,

*T-shirt Rags for blending (this is non-linty)

*Small palette knife or small clay scraper for lifting excess

*Plastic gloves

*Baby wipes for hands

*Dedicated brush for Oil Pastel …1/4” flat
